Submitting a Paper
All papers submitted must be the original work of the author, and not have been reproduced elsewhere. Papers should be fully referenced and sourced, with full acknowledgements to cited material. Papers can be sumbitted in either French or English and should be between 1,500 - 2,000 words in length (this limit does not include footnotes or endnotes). Accepted authors will receive an honorarium of USD 250.
Selection Process
A short-list of selected articles will be drawn up by the AfriMAP team, based on the following criteria of academic merit:
- Quality of content
- Quality of writing
- Originality
- Objectivity
- Verifiability (references etc)
This short-list will then be judged by a selection committee composed of members of AfriMAP's Advisory Committee. Published papers are edited for style and language, and fact-checked for accuracy where possible (please see the disclaimer below). Selected papers will be featured on AfriMAP's website (www.afrimap.org) with the intention of framing and encouraging debate on the chosen issues.
