AfriMAP has developed a detailed questionnaire template for each of its three chosen themes: the justice sector and rule of law, political participation, and the delivery of public services. The questionnaires have been developed through a consultative, multi-stage process with experts from all geographical regions of the continent. The questionnaires are designed to collect a wide range of information on respect for the standards that have been adopted by the AU, in order to form the basis of comprehensive description and analysis of the issues that arise in relation to each theme.

Other organizations or individuals are free to use the questionnaires independently of AfriMAP’s reporting process, with of course the correct acknowledgments. The questionnaires can be downloaded below, or for more information on using them, please email info@afrimap.org.

Delivery of Public Services
Updated version, April 2010. This questionnaire is designed to evaluate respect for the AU standards setting out states’ obligations in their efforts to ensure that everyone has access to public services. The questionnaire draws on the norms established by the AU Constitutive Act, the Convention on Preventing and Combatting Corruption, the Charter for the Public Service in Africa, the Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance, the Charter on Statistics, NEPAD, the APRM and other standards. It focuses especially on the respect for these standards in the delivery of public education services.
