Afrimap's library database contains resources on themes related to good governance in Africa. As well as our own project reports, and those from other initiatives in the Open Society Institute, we are including resources from external sources. If you would like to feature your research in AfriMAP's library, please contact us at info@afrimap.org.

Searching using the drop-down menus

You can search the library database by using the drop-down menus, and/or typing in the keywords that you would like to search for. The drop-down menus allow you to a select a country/region, a theme (within the framework of the overall topic of good governance),  date published, language, and type of document of your choice.

Searching using free-word text

If you type in text into the free word search, the system will search for that text in the title, publisher, author and short description fields for all documents in the database (although not the main document itself).

Searching in other languages 

AfriMAP's library database contains documents in several languages (including Arabic, French and Spanish). If you don't select a language of your choice (using the drop-down menu), the system will search for documents in all languages. If you search in e.g. French, the system will return documents in French only (the title of the document may however be in English, as if a document is available in English and French, it will be entered into the system in English, with an option for the user to view the document also in French).
